What is VAERS?

VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) is a national early warning system established in 1990 to detect possible safety problems with vaccines. It's co-managed by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

VAERS accepts and analyzes reports of adverse events (possible side effects) after a person has received a vaccination.

Is this data HIPAA compliant?

Yes, absolutely. All VAERS data displayed here is:

  • Publicly available - Published by the CDC/FDA on their official website

My vaccine lot number matches one with deaths/serious events - should I be worried?

Important context:

  • VAERS reports do NOT prove causation - A report means an event occurred after vaccination, but doesn't mean the vaccine caused it
  • Anyone can report - Reports are not verified for medical accuracy before being published
  • Coincidences happen - When millions of people get vaccinated, some will experience unrelated medical events afterward
  • Large lot numbers - Popular vaccines may have hundreds of thousands of doses from one lot number
  • More vaccinations = more reports - Lots used widely will naturally have more reports

What to do:

  • Don't panic - VAERS data requires expert analysis to interpret
  • Talk to your doctor if you have concerns
  • Check official CDC/FDA safety communications for genuine safety signals
  • Remember: billions of vaccine doses have been safely administered

Can I trust VAERS data?

VAERS is valuable but has limitations:

Strengths:

Bottom line: VAERS is an important tool for safety monitoring, but individual reports should not be used as proof that a vaccine caused harm.

What are "adverse events"?

An adverse event is any undesirable health occurrence that happens after vaccination, including:

  • Common reactions: Sore arm, mild fever, fatigue (usually expected)
  • Serious events: Hospitalization, disability, life-threatening illness, death
  • Coincidental events: Medical conditions that would have occurred anyway

Important: An adverse event doesn't mean the vaccine caused it - only that it occurred after vaccination. Many reported events are coincidental or unrelated.

Why are some lot numbers listed multiple times?

This is normal and expected! A person may receive multiple doses of the same vaccine from the same lot number:

  • COVID vaccines require 2-3 doses
  • HPV, Hepatitis B, and other vaccines have multi-dose schedules
  • Each dose is recorded as a separate entry

Example: Person receives Pfizer COVID dose 1 (lot ABC123) and dose 2 (lot ABC123) - lot ABC123 appears twice in their report.

How often is this data updated?

The CDC/FDA releases new VAERS data every Friday. This site is typically updated:

  • Weekly or bi-weekly for recent data
  • Check the available years to see what data is currently loaded
  • During updates, the site may be in maintenance mode temporarily

Clinic nurses responded and paged via the clinic overhead page for Stat evaluation. On arrival to exam room, patient was alert, completely oriented, laying on exam table with legs elevated. Initial vitals at 4:26pm, BP 110/64, HR 59, O2 96%, blood glucose 94mg/dL. She was able to recall all events leading up to event and moments after, matching her father's description. She was monitored for an additional 20 minutes in total. Repeat vitals at 4:33pm were BP 101/68, H 89, O2 100% while she was sat upright on the exam table. She was given sips of water and orange slices by her father under supervision and tolerated without concerns. Patient was monitored while standing and walking around clinic without any symptoms recurring. She was consistently able to state her full name, date of birth and history of events with no dizziness or unstable gait. Patient was discharged home with father. More

Patient began having anxiety and in the waiting area and escalated to a panic attack as deemed by the care giver. She did not show signs of allergic reaction but the caregiver wanted to administer children's liquid Benadryl that they use at home with she has a panic attack. She seemed to relax a little and in a few minutes her anxiety returned and the store manager called 911 . Still no signs of an allergic reaction, the caregiver and mom on the phone wanted to administer her Epi-Pen that she filled at the pharmacy. The caregiver administered the epi-pen which intensified the anxiety as paramedics arrived. Upon observation, Paramedics determined that it was NOT and allergic reaction to the vaccine but decided to take patient to hospital for observation. The Pharmacist later called to check on the patient and the mother reported that she was home and fine without any concerns, The pharmacist also followed up today 03/31/25 and the mother again reported no concerns and patent was fine. Very wobbly walk progressing to less and less mobility. She was unable to climb stairs to upstairs bed and bathroom. She could not carry or even hold a glass of water. Frequent tripping and numerous falls with resulting concussions and stitches for forehead wounds due to lack of feeling in her legs and feet. Required aid to change positions in bed, or get out of bed to use a bedside commode. Many clinic, MD, acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathic appointments ensued, aided by a team of EMTs to load her in and out of a vehicle. I am seeking compensation for 4 years of vaccine injury and permanent disablement for my daughter due to the shocking events that followed an injection of the Janssen Covid-19 vaccine in May of 2021. The issues are complex and ongoing. My daughter is age 55, born on 3/XX/1970. She received one dose of the Janssen Covid-19 vaccine on May 14, 2021 at a coffee shop, "Free Covid Vaccine Popup Clinic. DETAILS BELOW ? Almost immediately, I observed a change in her mobility. We had to call the local EMT team to our home to get her into my car so that we could take her to the local clinic. She got a full workup: blood, urine, X-rays. She had been more or less post-menopausal, but she resumed having periods with heavier than usual flow. Over the coming weeks and months, she experienced increased and debilitating musculoskeletal weakness. She was in back and sciatic pain. She called it, "spinal compression." Her gait was wobbly. Her lower back was clearly out of alignment and her legs would give out. She became immobilized; she was unable to walk, fell often, sometimes flat on her face, and was left helplessly crawling on the floor. She could not turn over or raise herself once she fell, because her arms also had none of their former strength. She was confined to a daybed in the living room and had to be moved with aid to use a beside commode. We acquired a walker for my daughter, but she often tripped due to less feeling in her legs and feet. She could not lift her legs to navigate the stairs to the only available shower, nor could she manage to reach the toilet on the main floor in time. There were lots of "accidents." She did not have enough strength in her arms to carry or even lift a glass of water. Between the spring and fall months, she saw physicians, NP's, two chiropractors, two acupuncturists, massage therapist, and a naturopathic doctor who gave her a "a neural prolotherapy injection," On October 17, I wrote in my journal, "she cannot walk." I drove her to physical therapy appointment. My daughter required the help of an EMT team to get her into my car. Instead of physical therapy, she waited in the ER to be taken by ambulance from General to a Regional Medical Center for a series of tests. Her symptoms were observed, but no diagnosis was forthcoming. Her chart read "Cauda Equina with incontinence." The treatment in facility with corticosteroids did not in any way improve her condition. She was assigned Home Health support on returning home. She was seen by Nurse Practitioners, R.N.s, Physical and Occupational Therapists, as well as, several alternative and complementary health care providers. We had seen no improvement during the weeks of in home help. It seemed we'd put the cart before the horse, because we still did not have a diagnosis for what had happened to cause this collapse in a formerly very healthy and vibrant individual. When it became clear to her family and home health providers in mid-November of 2021 that her condition was not improving, I drove her to the emergency room at Hospital on November 15th. Upon examination, the ER doctors and surgeons decided to keep her there. At no time was there any discussion regarding the sudden loss of mobility and certainly no inquiries into the Janssen Covid-19 vaccination on May 14, 2021. Within less than 24 hours, the Dr., a Neuroscience Institute Orthopedic Surgeon recommended a course of action to her. We didn't know what the alternatives were. She underwent an immediate, complex and radical 12-hour, stem to stern, spinal surgical procedure. We have access to her full medical and surgical records and history. She was robust and rarely saw a doctor prior to the sudden collapse that followed the Janssen vaccination in May 2021. All of these and subsequent events took place at the height of the Covid pandemic. Hence, she underwent surgery without family support. She remained in bed in the hospital for an entire month with very awkward and spotty communication to and from the doctors and other caregivers. Permission was given for only one family member to see her. My son was appointed "point person" because he lived nearby. I was not allowed to see my daughter in all of that time, not until I rode the elevator to the 5th floor and refused to leave until I could visit with her. By then, I had hired a healthcare advocate to intervene and negotiate a compromise. After one month in the hospital, she was transferred to a nursing home for rehabilitation where she was confined almost exclusively to a bed for another two months. Again, we were prohibited to enter the facility and had to stand outside her window to simply wave our greetings. Her energy level, muscle tone and emotional health was declining. We did have a few online visits via zoom during which the family observed her depleted condition. We had no idea where all this was going since the facility provided only minimal physical and occupational therapy opportunities for her. I requested a meeting with the staff to be facilitated by the healthcare advocate. In that meeting with her via zoom, we determined a date of discharge, as I noted, a full two months after her admission to the nursing home. She was born with a form of dwarfism, achondroplasia. She nearly died of whooping cough when she was just nine days old. Her will to live is strong and she has overcome many obstacles to live independently, drive, attend college and work in (redacted state name). She has been an enthusiastic and valued participant in the theater and arts communities and, more recently, on (redacted). She has an inherent love of nature and animals, enjoying care of our dogs, as well as, a friend's horses and goats. Since her return to my home in February/March 2021, she has made great strides. Her muscles were flaccid to the point of not being able to turn over in bed unaided. I am a fit octogenarian, but I was physically unable to help her. In response to this unanticipated emergency, another of my sons moved from (redacted state name). We'd gathered all manner of equipment and straps to help her move about. Her determination was apparent as she gradually was able to raise herself to standing and walk with the aid of a walker. Despite numerous mishaps - namely, relatively frequent falls flat on her face, causing her to hit her head, with stitches to show for it. necessitating trips to the local walk-in clinic for x-rays and stitches, and another short hospital stay, her mobility has improved. She uses walking sticks in and outside the house. She can climb stairs, shower on her own, do her own laundry and take short walks. She is able to drive her car outfitted with hand controls to shop for groceries or attend classes and community events. She is able to get around in the kitchen, helping where she can. And she has been able to walk and help in the care of a rambunctious puppy! Due to the challenge of climbing stairs, her bed and belongings occupied the living room of my home from May or June 2021. On her return from the nursing home, I began a remodeling project when she returned here to provide a bedroom and bathroom with shower for her on the main floor. She now has a bath and shower on the main floor. We were finally able to move her into her bedroom in December 2024. The fact of her condition being associated with the Janssen vaccine injection and the limits of a straining budget to carry this project to completion are the basis for seeking vaccine compensation. We have encountered many challenges over the past four years, not the least of which has been the burden of expenses related to her on-going care. Additionally, the time and cost involved in providing a room and bath for her has weighed heavily on my income and stamina. I have incurred debt that I don't know how I will pay off in a timely manner. I am now 85 years old, and in relatively good health. I would not have opted for anything less than what I have been able to do for my daughter. I don't know what or whether avenues for compensation are open to us, but I do know that we have a story that is yet untold and should be heeded, especially in light of the years of misdirection and censorship concerning vaccine efficacy by the pharmaceutical industry, government decision-makers and the media.
