What is VAERS?

VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) is a national early warning system established in 1990 to detect possible safety problems with vaccines. It's co-managed by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

VAERS accepts and analyzes reports of adverse events (possible side effects) after a person has received a vaccination.

Is this data HIPAA compliant?

Yes, absolutely. All VAERS data displayed here is:

  • Publicly available - Published by the CDC/FDA on their official website

My vaccine lot number matches one with deaths/serious events - should I be worried?

Important context:

  • VAERS reports do NOT prove causation - A report means an event occurred after vaccination, but doesn't mean the vaccine caused it
  • Anyone can report - Reports are not verified for medical accuracy before being published
  • Coincidences happen - When millions of people get vaccinated, some will experience unrelated medical events afterward
  • Large lot numbers - Popular vaccines may have hundreds of thousands of doses from one lot number
  • More vaccinations = more reports - Lots used widely will naturally have more reports

What to do:

  • Don't panic - VAERS data requires expert analysis to interpret
  • Talk to your doctor if you have concerns

Can I trust VAERS data?

VAERS is valuable but has limitations:

Bottom line: VAERS is an important tool for safety monitoring, but individual reports should not be used as proof that a vaccine caused harm.

What are "adverse events"?

An adverse event is any undesirable health occurrence that happens after vaccination, including:

  • Common reactions: Sore arm, mild fever, fatigue (usually expected)
  • Serious events: Hospitalization, disability, life-threatening illness, death
  • Coincidental events: Medical conditions that would have occurred anyway

Important: An adverse event doesn't mean the vaccine caused it - only that it occurred after vaccination. Many reported events are coincidental or unrelated.

Why are some lot numbers listed multiple times?

This is normal and expected! A person may receive multiple doses of the same vaccine from the same lot number:

  • COVID vaccines require 2-3 doses
  • HPV, Hepatitis B, and other vaccines have multi-dose schedules
  • Each dose is recorded as a separate entry

Example: Person receives Pfizer COVID dose 1 (lot ABC123) and dose 2 (lot ABC123) - lot ABC123 appears twice in their report.

How often is this data updated?

The CDC/FDA releases new VAERS data every Friday. This site is typically updated:

  • Weekly or bi-weekly for recent data
  • Check the available years to see what data is currently loaded
  • During updates, the site may be in maintenance mode temporarily

He had visited his best friend that morning, and had come home to finish mowing with the riding mower. Sometime in the evening my mother-in-law realized it had been a very long time for my father-in-law to be outside, she went outside and found him on the ground. She screamed for help, thankfully neighbors heard her. The next door neighbor a registered nurse performs CPR, they called 911. Upon arriving 911 asked my mother-in-law how long he had been out there, unfortunately she was unsure. My mother-in-law did tell me that they had just received their covid vaccines 10 days prior. My father-in-law was a relatively healthy person, he only had one major hospitalization 2 years ago. He had been in relatively decent health up until now. Due to his age an autopsy was not performed. I suspect a myocardial infarction may have occurred. I do not know the names of any of his physicians, however I do know he was hospitalized at (withheld name) hospital in (withheld city), and subsequently transferred to a hospital in (withheld city, state) sometime between October 1st 2023, and November 30th 2023. Those hospital records may give additional information about his physicians, and his health. More

I have been sick with fever and head pain since 10:30 pm Friday after my Pfizer vaccination at 3 pm.... I have been sick with fever and head pain since 10:30 pm Friday after my Pfizer vaccination at 3 pm. I was in bed 13 hours that night, 11 pm - 1 pm. Saturday in terrible head pain, muscle cramps, and shivering. Zero deep sleep, 8 hours of intermittent sleep, and over 4 hours awake. 103 fever Saturday morning. Zero appetite, but wanted to take ibuprofen for head pain. Ate an unsweetened Applesauce and took 400 mg Ibuprofen. Ate two saltines later in the day. Got up to use bathroom, sat back down after, and immediately knew I was going to vomit. Went to kitchen sink, vomited three times. It was my dinner from over 24 hours prior. Fever finally got down to 99.2 Saturday night, and still was Sunday. Sunday I ate an Applesauce, much easier that day, took my estrogen, singulair, from Saturday night, and another 400 mg Ibuprofen, then a saltine, 9 unsalted plain brown rice snaps. When I was chewing the 9th snap, my nose started running on the right side. I got up and got a tissue. I blew both sides. Then blew with more force again. Blood came pouring out of my right nostril. I tipped my head back and pinched my nose. Had to swallow the blood. Finally stopped. I read that the fever, dry air, and ibuprofen can cause the vessels to be inflamed, and thin. Temperature was finally normal that afternoon, while intermittent head pain persisted. Unfortunately, fever resumed at 101.2 by 11 pm. Monday morning, today, it was 99 before even getting out of bed. Flat on my back in bed, during the night, I could not take a deeper breath, my lungs resisted spreading open. I tried three times, before it felt they were at capacity. Once I got up, intermittent sharp stabbing pain shot through my skull, like being stabbed with a hot ice pick. In 2 hours 45 minutes it will be 36 hours since vaccination, 28 hours still in pain and fevered. More
