What is VAERS?

VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) is a national early warning system established in 1990 to detect possible safety problems with vaccines. It's co-managed by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

VAERS accepts and analyzes reports of adverse events (possible side effects) after a person has received a vaccination.

Is this data HIPAA compliant?

Yes, absolutely. All VAERS data displayed here is:

  • Publicly available - Published by the CDC/FDA on their official website

My vaccine lot number matches one with deaths/serious events - should I be worried?

Important context:

  • VAERS reports do NOT prove causation - A report means an event occurred after vaccination, but doesn't mean the vaccine caused it
  • Anyone can report - Reports are not verified for medical accuracy before being published
  • Coincidences happen - When millions of people get vaccinated, some will experience unrelated medical events afterward
  • Large lot numbers - Popular vaccines may have hundreds of thousands of doses from one lot number
  • More vaccinations = more reports - Lots used widely will naturally have more reports

Can I trust VAERS data?

VAERS is valuable but has limitations:

Bottom line: VAERS is an important tool for safety monitoring, but individual reports should not be used as proof that a vaccine caused harm.

What are "adverse events"?

An adverse event is any undesirable health occurrence that happens after vaccination, including:

  • Common reactions: Sore arm, mild fever, fatigue (usually expected)
  • Serious events: Hospitalization, disability, life-threatening illness, death
  • Coincidental events: Medical conditions that would have occurred anyway

Important: An adverse event doesn't mean the vaccine caused it - only that it occurred after vaccination. Many reported events are coincidental or unrelated.

Why are some lot numbers listed multiple times?

This is normal and expected! A person may receive multiple doses of the same vaccine from the same lot number:

  • COVID vaccines require 2-3 doses
  • HPV, Hepatitis B, and other vaccines have multi-dose schedules
  • Each dose is recorded as a separate entry

Example: Person receives Pfizer COVID dose 1 (lot ABC123) and dose 2 (lot ABC123) - lot ABC123 appears twice in their report.

How often is this data updated?

The CDC/FDA releases new VAERS data every Friday. This site is typically updated:

  • Weekly or bi-weekly for recent data
  • Check the available years to see what data is currently loaded
  • During updates, the site may be in maintenance mode temporarily

The first couple of days after vaccination I had a headache, which I thought was a normal reaction. ... The first couple of days after vaccination I had a headache, which I thought was a normal reaction. On the 3rd day I started feeling a strange tingling throughout my whole body. On that Friday October 1st, I had my annual physical health examination, that means a 10 minute phone call with a practitioner. I mentioned the strange sensations to her and she said to wait until next week to see if it goes away. Unfortunately, the night of Saturday October 2nd, I began having pounding chest pains that felt different than anything previously experienced, especially when laying down in the evening. Thinking that many people have strange reactions to this vaccine, I waited a few more days. On the morning of Wednesday October 6th, my chest was still in pain and at the advice of a nurse, I went to Emergency room. While at the emergency room a series of tests were run including EKG, blood work, and blood pressure. My blood pressure was higher than I had ever seen it, but that was the only abnormality among the tests taken. I was injected with an anti-inflammatory medication and that helped to reduce the pain and then sent home after being there for a few hours and told to continue to take ibuprofen as an anti-inflammatory. I had a follow up appointment the next week with my primary doctor. She was disturbingly nonchalant about the visit and literally the first thing she said when she walked into the room was ?so this is nothing new right?? I told her that it was, I had never had that sensation of inflammation or that kind of duration of chest pain before. She was confident there were never issues with Pfizer (the vaccine). We did an EKG, there was an anomaly (I felt my heart skip when it occurred). She told me to take it easy and agreed to give me a referral to a cardiologist and that I would temporarily be exempt from a second dose until I was evaluated. On the 18th of October, which was the very last day to receive the 2nd dose and be considered ?fully vaccinated? before the 1 November deadline (2 weeks after dose 2), I received a phone call from a nurse saying that due to a change in policy, only people who had previous heart issues before the COVID vaccine were eligible for Cardiology referrals. She said my doctor said to go ahead and get my 2nd dose of the vaccine immediately. Finding this to be appallingly dangerous, I informed her that I was still having chest pains daily and that I did in fact have issues prior. She went back to my doctor and ultimately they agreed to allow me to get a referral to a Cardiologist. It took another month before I was seen at Cardiology. They quickly did an EKG, no issues shown by that time much later. No other evaluation was conducted and I was basically rushed out. I spoke with the doctor about my experience. He said I likely had pericarditis which sometimes happens with these vaccines, that they don't know why it happens, but it isn?t a significant concern. His recommendation was to take some ibuprofen before taking my second dose. Again, I found that ridiculous but did not argue. By that time, there was a new policy indicating that those with approved separation dates did not have to vaccinate. This policy kept me from being required to get a 2nd dose. In addition to my chest pains, I got random pains in my limbs a couple of weeks after vaccination. Sometimes it felt like spots of warm pains, sometimes more like tingling, most often sharp pains. They happened in my hands, feet, and limbs. I also noticed two hard bumps on my right calf, which I thought could be clots or bruises. I didn?t recall any trauma there at all. Then I started noticing bruising on 3 of my limbs, and a lot of yellowed skin on my left wrist. My veins in my wrist also began to feel painful. I went to another doctor to discuss. She noted bruising "all over my body." She ran blood tests which came back normal, no explanation. I returned to the same doctor in November to ask about the random pains, and now also muscle aches, this time mentioning that they started after vaccination. She seemed to think that I may be making the issues up, and recommended we just ?monitor? the issues for another month. Less than a month later, on 21 November, my left ear began ringing. Within a week, both ears began ringing, bilateral tinnitus. As of 21 September 2025, I am still suffering from constant bilateral tinnitus as well as what feel like random vein pains, chronic inflammation especially in legs, fatigue, and brain fog. Issues appear consistent with chronic vasculitus. I only do light physical activity given current health status. More

Concurrent medical conditions included Rheumatoid arthritis (Rheumatoid arthritis for 30 years) and Immunocompromised. On an unknown date, the patient received dose of SPIKEVAX NOS (SPIKEVAX NOS) (unknown route) 1 dosage form. On an unknown date, the patient experienced ARTHRITIS (arthritis flare up again), SPINAL DISORDER (first set for the lower spine, but then they have to look at the cervical spine, which is bad/ spine is a disaster), NERVOUS SYSTEM DISORDER (having neurological problems) and CARDIAC DISORDER (heart condition and heart problems). At the time of the report, ARTHRITIS (arthritis flare up again), SPINAL DISORDER (first set for the lower spine, but then they have to look at the cervical spine, which is bad/ spine is a disaster), NERVOUS SYSTEM DISORDER (having neurological problems) and CARDIAC DISORDER (heart condition and heart problems) outcome was unknown. Concomitant medications were not reported. The reporter stated that patient had 12-13 doses of the Moderna COVID vaccine and needed every 4 to 6 months. The reporter states that patient was trying to find the updated Moderna Spikevax as patient had procedures that need to be done, and patient required the vaccine and patient had to start some of her arthritis medicine before she can get the procedures done and patient could not get her procedures done because she had to hold off. Patient had to hold the arthritic meds, which were steroids, that she's been taking for 30 years, before she had her vaccines which caused the arthritis flare up again. The reporter stated that patient was supposed to go in for treatment and she could not get the vaccine because she needs spinal injections done and stated that she finally broke down and got the spinal injections because her spine was a disaster. The reporter stated that patient had an evaluation for her spine the other day. The reporter stated that patient was on her 4th MRI this past summer. Patient stated that she had the first set for the lower spine, but then they have to look at the cervical spine, which was bad. The reporter stated that it was even worse than to see because patient was having neurological problems and needs a different MRI done. Feb 25, 2021), I started to experience heart palpitations. I saw a cardiologist, had measurements taken of my heart (size), and wore a Holter Monitor for approximately 2 weeks (Aug 18-30, 2021). For reference, I recorded 47 heart palpitations on the "Holter Monitor Diary" during that two week period. I didn't get sound answers from the health professionals but was told that palpitations were just "something that occur", despite the fact that I never experienced the sensation of heart palpitations prior to the COVID vaccine. Two weeks after second dose I was in the ER with respiratory issues, fatigue, nose bleeds and heart palpitations. Low Hemoglobin (6), low iron (4), low potassium, low B12. Took 2 years to stabilize healthy hemoglobin and iron. Took potassium for a few months. Treated regularly with B12 shots, iron infusions. During hospitalization received emergency blood transfusion. Last iron infusion 10/2023. Upper and lower GI scopes found no internal bleed to explain blood loss. May 2025: Doctor again diagnosed me with low hemoglobin (8), low iron, low B12. Treated with Iron infusions and B12 shots. Bone Marrow Biopsy August 2025 performed and results show Systemic Mastocytosis. More
